USY is an international youth organization for Jewish teenagers throughout the world. It is sponsored by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. USY offers many programs through our local chapter, Region, and International Region.
USY has two separate age levels:

Hi, my name is Orly Jacobs and I am the Youth Director at Sunrise Jewish Center. I come to you with many years of experience as a Youth Director. My first experience with USY came when I moved to South Florida and worked at Temple Sinai in Hollywood as both an Advisor and Youth Director, starting their Youth Department in 79'. As it grew, so did my love of working with young teens and giving them opportunities to learn about Judaism by “having fun”.
My years of "informal, Out of the Box" Jewish education continued to grow. I met my husband while hosting USY International Convention. USY can be every teen's future. You too can meet your “Bashert” through USY. When Sunrise Jewish Center became affiliated with United Synagogue, it became my goal to bring both USY and Kadima to this temple and give these teens the opportunity they needed to meet other Jewish teens, learn about Judaism in an informal setting, and have the opportunity to be part of the wonderful world of United Synagogue Youth by attending Regional, Sub-Regional, and International events!
By spending time with other teens that share the same interests as others have! In the two years that Sunrise Jewish Center has had a USY and Kadima chapter, we have tripled our membership. We have sent most of our members to sub-regional and regional events. We have sent members on summer programs, and we are sending members to international events.
